2007................ The October quarterly
meeting of the historical society will be held the 2nd Sunday in
October (14th). A pot-luck dinner will be shared at one p.m. Everyone is
asked to bring a covered dish and their own table service. Following the

October 2007—Page 3 PRESIDENT JOE’S PAGE................ Our museum addition is now reaching the final stages of
construction. Finished is the dry wall and taping work as well as the wall
painting. The heating and cooling units are being put in place this week.
Floor coverings are next and should be completed in about 3 weeks at which time
we will begin the job of setting up new displays in the new areas made
available by the construction. We plan to have an open house next spring but
we have a lot of work to do before then. We have had extra expenses,
especially the cost of a new roof for the old building. So our capital
campaign for the building program is ongoing. If you would like to help us
with the financing of the new museum building we would very much appreciate

drawing President: Joe Pryor, on Saturday, October 27th at the chili/soup
dinner. Vice Pres: Carl McDonald, The first prize is a beautiful handmade quilt, quilted
by Secretary: Peggy Hake, St. Eliz. Elva Steen of Eldon. The second prize is a baby
quilt Treasurer: Betty Kallenbach, Eldon also made by Mrs. Steen. There are several
other BOARD OF DIRECTORS: prizes to be awarded. Tickets are available
for Jim Clark, Tuscumbia anyone who wishes to purchase them. They
are Jerome Brondel, Eldon $1.00 each or 6 for
