Simpson, Charles Lloyd Charles Lloyd Simpson, 1887-1939. Charles was the son of Madison Perry Simpson, 1846-1919, and Sarah Elizabeth (Wright) Simpson, 1858-1893; and a grandson of James Lawrence and Elizabeth Mace (Thompson) Wright. Although a conscientous objector for religious reasons, "Charlie" Simpson served honorably in the U.S. Army during WWI.
