Thompson, James Earl James Earl Thompson, 1893-1980, son of James Downing and Isabelle (Wyckoff) Thompson. Thompson family historian, musician, writer, photographer, sound recorder, and master storyteller. For many years, the "Dean" of the Thompson family and annual organizer of the Thompson reunion at Tuscumbia, MO. A "Renaissance Man" of the Ozarks, who loved nature and most of humanity. Veteran of WWI and author of his own autobiography. His musical interests ranged from Nelson Eddy and Jeanette McDonald to Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata." Longtime song leader and Elder of the Saline Valley Church of Christ. Always "plowing his own furrow," he was a driver of Studebakers and Ramblers. There will never be another like him. Rest in Peace.
