Wright, Garcia "Garsy" Lloyd and Ruby Georgia (Allee) "Tuscumbia High School Basketball Team Champions, 1925"

L-R: Tom Thompson, Paul Wright, Harry Kallenbach, Bob Maylee, Dennie Jenkins, and Coach and School Superintendent, Tennyson Clay “T.C.” Wright.

The lettered jerseys are paired with what today might be called "cut-offs." The sun visors suggest most games of that era were played out-of-doors. No mention is made of other players as substitutes. Paul Wright was a first cousin of the coach, educator Tennyson Clay "T.C." Wright.

Paul Wright, was my (Alan Terry Wright) uncle. Uncle Paul spoke fondly of his years at Tuscumbia High School and the quality of its basketball team. He remained lifetime friends with Bob Maylee and Harry Kallenbach. Harry Kallenbach's brother, Royal Kallenbach, is about 98 years old and living at Lee House in Eldon, MO as of July, 2014.

This photo is courtesy of Joan (Schwartz) Garrity of Santa Fe, NM. Joan's mother, Frances Marjorie (Wright) Schwartz was Paul Wright's sister. An artist, Aunt Frances painted under the name "Francesca." Her works are represented in the Miller County Museum and in galleries and residences around the U.S. Paul and Frances Wright were my dad, Garcia ("Garsy") Lloyd Wright's younger brother and sister. Their father, John Wright, was also a gifted artist, with some 50 of his oil paintings surviving in the hands of family and friends. His paintings can be found on this webpage indexed under “John Wright Oil Paintings."
