While residing in Miller County, Missouri, Mr. Walters drowned in an abandoned quarry near Eugene, MO, July 16, 1937. He was attempting to rescue a non-swimmer, Ruby Colvin, who also drowned. Mr. Walters was 25 years old. Miss Colvin was 21.
