Garcia ("Garsy") Lloyd Wright, 1895-1971, son of John and Lillian (Ingram) Wright and grandson of James Lawrence and Elizabeth Mace (Thompson) Wright. Born at Tuscumbia, MO, he moved with his family to Camden County in 1901. Garsy married Ruby Georgia Allee May 27, 1932 at Tuscumbia, MO, and they resided near Eugene, in Miller County, MO until his death. They had five children: Glennie Lloyd, Bernie Gail, Merlin Homer, Patricia Shirley, and Alan Terry. Garsy was named by this father for the Cuban revolutionary hero, General Calixto Garcia, some three years before the outbreak of the Spanish American War. Garsy made his living as a skilled house painter and decorator. He was also a good carpenter. He loved to fish and was known as a checker player of the first order. Garsy became a member of the Church of Christ at an early age and led the singing at many Churches of Christ over the years.
