There are differing opinions as to what makes a building or site historically significant. Sometimes it is what occurred there that identifies it as being historic or it may be the people associated with particular landmarks that give it importance. Sometimes it is the memories and stories that have been passed down from one generation to another that makes it part of our heritage. There is no simple definition.
